The challenge
Modernize an existing PHP website while preserving core business workflows and introducing clearer account permissions.
The solution
Rebuilt the frontend in React, moved legacy logic into modular REST APIs, and deployed the application behind Nginx with PM2.
Responsibilities
- Built user and admin authentication with JWT and bcrypt.
- Implemented role-based permissions for owners, managers, and workers.
- Rewrote legacy PHP logic as Node.js and Express REST APIs connected to MySQL.
- Configured production hosting on a VPS with Nginx and PM2.
